Built on the orders of the Teutonic Knights, then called Santa Maria degli Alemanni, the Santa Chiara church now houses an interesting museum.

The Murat district represents modern Bari. It derives its name from its architect, Joachim Murat, who created the grid-like arrangement of the streets. It is one of Bari's major shopping districts and lies to the south of the city. Bari's legendary Via Argiro and Via Sparano are located here – both a mecca for shoppers and diners.
